Prayer Train Across America is On the Move! In response to the growing need for prayer and repentance in the United States, the Prayer Train Across America Project (PTAA) is moving forward faster than planned. The project’s launch was originally set for May 1, 2025 to coincide with the National Day of Prayer, however, the time to pray is NOW! PTAA has already started, reaching communities across the nation, and we’re excited to invite you to be part of this powerful movement.
What is Prayer Train Across America’s Mission? PTAA’s mission is to spread the urgent call for humble prayer and repentance in keeping with the words of 2 Chronicles 7:14.“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” PTAA train rides are journeys of Prayer, Reflection, and Impact! PTAA is now poised to reach our neighbors in nearly every state in the U.S. and we want YOU to be part of it!
How It Works: Prayer Train calls on Christians across the country to “get on-board” by taking a commuter rail trip to any destination in the U.S. As you travel, pray for the people and communities you pass, reflecting on the rich blessings and challenges of our nation. Whether you embark on a short journey or travel from coast to coast, this is your chance to make your commute a prayer mission.
Who can participate: Whether you’re a church group, peers, family, or solo traveler, you can “get on-board” with Prayer
Train. Simply choose your travel destination and pray for the nation’s healing as you journey. Prayer Train is especially ideal for those already planning for Spring break, Summer missions, or any vacation. Even your regular commute to work can become a purpose filled and impactful prayer mission trip.
Before You Travel: The change we seek in America starts with us. Reflect on 2 Chronicles 7:14 and commit to these four actions as you prepare for your Prayer Train journey:
1. Humility: Commit to humbling yourself before God and seeking His guidance.
2. Confession: Acknowledge the areas in your life that need change, allowing God to show you the way.
3. Repentance: Turn away from anything that contradicts God’s will, relying on His strength to change.
4. Intercession: Pray for the entire nation, asking God to forgive our collective sins and for his healing mercies for all across this country.
Planning Your Prayer Train Trip: In Planning your PTAA journey, you’ll want to start by prayerfully considering the distance you like to travel and locations you’d like to pray for. Next, pick the travel dates and times that fit your schedule. Consider inviting others to join you and look into potential group discounts or special seating options with Amtrak. You can visit Amtrak’s website for route details, baggage policies, and other information such as travel insurance options.
Onboard the Prayer Train: Once you’ve booked your trip, reach out to Light Global Missions to request a Prayer Train “On-Board” Guide. Your guide includes prayer prompts, devotionals, activity pages, and more to make your journey impactful. We also offer Prayer Train T-shirts, arm bands, and convenient carry bags to unify your travel team. During your trip, pass the time with music, devotionals, Bible study, or fun activities, all while praying for our nation. You can share the mission with fellow travelers, enjoy the views, and meditate on God's love and healing for the U.S.
After Your Journey: Once your trip is complete, let Light Global Missions know, and we’ll update our PTAA map to track the areas you’ve covered in prayer.
